“I have known Peter (McLean) of PMPR for over 35 years. We met for the first time at an AIMS (Association of International Marathons & Distance Races) Board Meeting in New York in 1989. Sadly, many of our colleagues from that time have since passed, such as Fred Lebow (Founder of the New York Marathon) and Chris Brasher (Founder of the London Marathon). From that time, I have seen Peter grow and develop into a greatly talented global communications professional generating coverage around every area of the world in many languages.
We both served at various times as Directors of AIMS. Peter has written and had published most of the organisation's and much of the sport of running’s history in a period of over 30 years, including documenting, reporting and promoting world records, world athlete of the year awards and the marathon’s historic roots in Greece.
He has consistently shown a passion for sport, in particular athletics and football. And a great ability to communicate with passion and efficiency key messages around the planet.”
