Client Case Study: Refugee World Cup

PMPR has worked with the Refugee World Cup for many years, promoting the tournament to the mainstream media, engaging prominent former footballers to generate coverage for the annual event. The Refugee World Cup is organised by Glasgow Afghan United and sees local communities, refugees, asylum seekers and people from minority ethnic groups come together for an inclusive, unifying and celebratory showcase of grassroots football. The event attracts more than 250 players and 500 guests with the aim of strengthening and helping integration for newly-arrived people who now call Scotland home.

Client Testimonial

Abdul Bostani - Refugee World Cup Director & Managing Director of Glasgow Afghan United comments:

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Peter (McLean) for many years. We first met through the Scottish Unity League, which Peter and friends founded over 25 years ago as Scotland’s first anti-sectarian and anti-racist football league.

PMPR has generated incredible publicity in volume, quality, and depth of reporting for the Refugee Football World Cup and its aims of promoting diversity, respect, unity and understanding between all communities.

Apart from the great job that Peter, Barry (Thomson PMPR’s Marketing Director), and the team do for us, their genuine interest in and belief in diversity and social inclusion has earned the respect of everyone involved.

I am delighted to recommend PMPR as the top agency in PR to deal with, an agency that consistently delivers meaningful results through people who care.”
